UFIT staff will perform maintenance for Storage Services beginning on Sunday, June 16th at 6:00 AM. The maintenance activity will be on the back-end SAN Fabric which may cause a brief performance degradation, however, SAN storage services will remain available throughout the maintenance window. The maintenance is expected to be completed by Sunday, June 16th at 8:00 AM.

UFIT staff will perform maintenance for Network Services beginning on Saturday, June 15th at 5:00 AM. One of UFs upstream internet providers will be performing maintenance on their Gainesville POP. This will cause up to a 30 second disruption to some external sites. This disruption will occur sometime between 6am and 7am. The maintenance is expected to be completed by Saturday, June 15th at 10:00 AM.

UFIT staff will perform maintenance for Rubrik VM Backup Appliance beginning on Tuesday, June 11 at 10:00 AM. During this maintenance, regular backups and file restores should continue as normal. However, IT personnel may be unable to perform full-VM restorations until maintenance is complete. The maintenance is expected to be completed by Tuesday, June 11 at 4:00 PM.

Zoom New Accounts: Service Issue Resolved (Expired 6/11/2019 5:00pm)

University community members setting up new Zoom accounts may experience an error message showing a negative one (-1). The error appears to be associated with new users in the PHI environment. The issue has been escalated and Zoom is working to resolve the issue.

Email however continues to be accessible via mobile/desktop mail clients like Outlook, Mac Mail, Thunderbird, etc.

UFIT has engaged Microsoft Support with a Severity A service request to identify the root cause and resolution.

Gatorlink VPN users could see up to a 15 minute outage of VPN service during the maintenance window.

The maintenance window is expected to be completed by Saturday, May 25 at 7:00 AM.

Clients who are using these names for address book functionality should migrate to UF Active Directory. HiPerGator- /orange file system : Service Issue (Expired 5/20/2019 11:23pm)

UFIT is implementing a resolution for the Service Issue/Outage regarding HiPerGator /orange.


The /orange file system is back in production on the cluster and is accessible externally via SFTP, Globus, and rsync. At this time, Samba (SMB) access is still disabled while we continue to work with the vendor to resolve the issue encountered during the maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience that this delay has caused our users and will send another email announcement when Samba services are restored for /orange. If you experience any issues with HiPerGator or any storage system other than /orange, please open a support request at: https://support.rc.ufl.edu/.
