IT community members utilizing myIT may not have received their automated scheduled report over the last two-days. UFIT is working directly with the myIT vendor to restore the automated reporting to normal as quickly as possible. myIT continues to be fully operational and completely accessible. Any IT community member not receiving their routinely scheduled report, can send an email to ufit-itsm@ufl.edu to request the report manually.

UFIT staff will perform maintenance for Gatorlink VPN beginning on Saturday, December 18th at 6:00 AM. Gatorlink VPN is designed to allow university faculty, staff, and students to securely "tunnel" into campus over commodity networks, such as the Internet, and access services as if the user were on campus. During the maintenance activity, the entire redundant cluster that powers the VPN service will need to be rebooted. As a result, VPN users can expect up to 15 minutes of downtime. The maintenance is expected to be completed by Saturday, December 18th at 8:00 AM.

The problem with Multifactor Authentication - Duo has been resolved. Duo determined that network connectivity at Amazon Web Services was the root cause and Amazon has resolved the issue. University community members using Multi-factor Authentication - Duo may experience slowness or intermittent availability due to issues with our vendor, Duo. UFIT is in contact with Duo as they work to restore the service to normal as quickly as possible.

Research Computing staff will be transitioning ResVault to new HiPerGator 3.0 hardware beginning on Friday, December 3rd at 8:00 AM. ResVault is a secure computing environment where scientists and collaborators can conduct research on restricted and confidential data. During the maintenance, ResVault will not be accessible and all VMs will be shut down and will need to be rebooted by their owner after the maintenance. The main HiPerGator cluster and HiPerGator AI will not be impacted by this maintenance, it only affects ResVault users. The maintenance is expected to be completed by Friday, December 10th at 8:00 AM.

myAdmissions Slate / Transcript ordering / AWS : Service Restored. (Expired 12/8/2021 12:00pm)

The event for Amazon Web Services has been resolved. The affected services should have returned to normal operations.


University community members accessing myAdmissions Slate may experience slowness or intermittent availability. AWS (Amazon Web Services) is experiencing performance issues with their US-East-1 infrastructure that is causing increased latency to support parts of Slate. While myAdmissions Slate remains online and operational at this time, their issue, which is affecting all of their customers in this region, is creating some intermittent, increased latency and error rates in certain areas of Slate, such as in the Slate Reader while displaying documents.

The Application Management System is used to manage the application processes for all application levels. The myAdmissions Slate system allows the Admissions Office, colleges, and departments to receive, review, and release application decisions.

Please note that transcript ordering through ONE.UF is also impacted by the AWS event at the Student Clearinghouse.

Vendors are monitoring their status pages for any updates.

Canvas and e-Learning Tools : Service Restored. (Expired 12/8/2021 9:00am)

As of 8:30pm, the underlying cause of performance issues in Amazon Web Services has been addressed. The majority of affected services have returned to normal operation and recovery is in process for any remaining impaired services.


Performance issues at Amazon Web Services continue to impact Canvas and e-Learning Tools. The following information was posted on the Amazon Web Services status page at 5:04pm.

[2:04 PM PST] We have executed a mitigation which is showing significant recovery in the US-EAST-1 Region. We are continuing to closely monitor the health of the network devices and we expect to continue to make progress towards full recovery. We still do not have an ETA for full recovery at this time.


University community members accessing Canvas and other e-Learning tools may experience slowness or intermittent availability due to performance issues at Amazon Web Services.

UF Canvas is an open, intuitive cloud-based learning management system developed for the students of the University of Florida.
