The problem with sending and receiving email attachments with people outside of the University has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.


University community members who are sending and receiving email attachments with people outside of the University may experience a delay in exchanging these messages with attachments. UFIT is awaiting resolution from our hosted service provider to return services to normal.

Updates will be posted to this alert as soon as additional information becomes available.

UFIT staff will perform maintenance on Mainframe Infrastructure beginning on Sunday, February 18 at 5:00 AM. The Primary MVS operating system will be brought up under z/OS 2.02 by 7 am Sunday, February 18. We are asking development groups to check their applications by 3:00 pm Sunday, February 18. If there are no problems we will remain up on z/OS 2.02. If problems are encountered we will roll back to z/OS 1.13 on the primary in accordance with the back out plan. The maintenance window is expected to be completed by Sunday, February 18 at 7:00 AM.

There will be a 15 minute outage for private IP host to resources off campus for all wired network devices on the UF campus, including the Department of Housing network, as traffic is routed to a new NAT platform. This new NAT platform will offer increased NAT capability, capacity, and state-full inspection of traffic for increased security.

A code upgrade will be performed on the Gatorlink remote access VPN concentrators. Due to the redundancy in the Gatorlink VPN service, Anyconnect users should not see any downtime. L2TP based clients will see up to two 5 minute disruptions to the service.

The maintenance is expected to be completed by Tuesday, February 13 at 7:00 AM.

UFIT staff will perform emergency maintenance for Gatorlink VPN beginning on 2/10/2018 6am. The maintenance is expected to be completed by 2/10/2018 7am. This maintenance was originally scheduled for 2/13/2018 at 5am, but has been moved up due to a change in the reported severity by the vendor. Anyconnect VPN users may see a brief disruption in the ability to pass traffic, but the VPN session will stay up. L2TP users will see 1-2 disconnections as the code is being pushed into the VPN cluster.
